What happens at the first visit?

Please plan to arrive 20 minutes early the first time to fill out paperwork. I evaluate all patients for depression and anxiety at the first visit.

The initial session is $125 and includes a report to your MD if you wish to be evaluated for medication (your call of course, as to whether the report is needed). I don’t prescribe medication. Follow up sessions are $115 and it is advisable to come weekly for the first month or so. Sessions are 1 hour.

 

I am not on any insurance panels, although I can provide a receipt for you to file if you choose (if your plan includes Out of Network benefits for counseling). I generally advise against involving your insurance company in your counseling as it goes against you in the future should you apply for life or health insurance.

 

Finally, there is a strict 24 hour notice for cancellation policy. Because of this, a credit/debit card number is kept on file and is required before your first visit can be scheduled. Appointments can only be cancelled by phone (not email). DON”T send the credit card number by email; call me at 214-410-0435 and leave the type of card (Mastercard/Visa), number, and expiration date on my passcode/protected voicemail. When you call, let me know which appointment you would like. I have daytime hours Monday-Thursday; first appointment is at 9 AM, last one at 4 PM.
