Individual Therapy

“We create an illusion of the world that we call reality, and then we marinate in it.”
E. Kubler-Ross

I have chosen to focus my practice exclusively on individual therapy – that is, the client and therapist working without the presence or input of others—because it is ultimately your perception that creates your life.

Childhood experiences and teachings are the major factors in the forming of this perception, and if you are willing (and only when you are ready!) we will explore these gently. We do so with the greatest respect for our parents, knowing that we are all human and do the best we can.

Sometimes issues are simple and on the surface and do not need exploration of the past. For these, we use cognitive therapy only; that is, we examine your ways of thinking for any errors, or look at your current lifestyle for things that can be changed to ease your distress. Pain, stress and anxiety are particularly treatable by this method.

You are always in charge of what is discussed in therapy. I act as a respectful guide.
